Day one in the Big Apple Started with "Eataly" by Chef Mario Batali

Pardon the Punctuation...First day in New York and I had to treat myself. Craving one of my favorite spots in NYC I walked my butt over to Mario Batali's "Eataly" over by the Flatiron building. If you wanna find out what they're about here is the manifesto. I know they don't need more advertisement but this place is the shit. A gourmet Italian market with nine dine in or take-away options and two cafes. If you have trouble making decisions this is not the place for you. Last night went with "La Pizza and La Pasta." The name kind of says it all. Usually there is a pretty long wait but luck was on my side and a spot opened up at the chef's counter so I was able to sit right away. To contain my jetlag my very informed waitress "Mel" brought over a glass of Barbera D'Alba which hit the spot while I perused the menu. Mel recommended the Lasagne so I agreed to agree with her and ordered it. After dinner the Gelato bar was calling my name so I scooted over there and took care of business with a half pistacchio and stracciatella cup. Last but not least the "Cafe Vergnano 1882" kiosk took care of my need for a night cap espresso. There is nothing at Eataly that I would steer you away from. This place purely rocks and I hope everyone gets a chance to visit at least once in their life.
